Dogwood
Dogwood has its distinctive, unlike anything else, tart berry and fruit flavor that is hard to describe. It is not the most common berry in Russia, because dogwood grows only in southern regions, where there is plenty of sun and heat all year round.
Dogwood is full of vitamins and minor-nutrient elements, useful minerals. Even a small number of berries allows to replenish the body's reserves and increase immunity, improve the general condition in the winter period.
It is almost impossible to buy it fresh in the European part or Siberia, but we can deliver it in bulk in frozen form. Blast freezing does not affect the useful properties and flavor of dogwood: the temperature drops very quickly, to ensure that the useful compounds have no time to break down. After defrosting, dogwood can be freely used in cooking.
Most often it is used for making compotes and jams, added to fruit tea and sauces. Dogwood is also used to make jellies and desserts due to its pectin content.
